The Little Dog Laughed to monodram inspirowany powieścią Johna Fante Ask the Dust, skupiający się na postaci Arturo Bandiniego i jego zmaganiach między osobistymi pragnieniami a oczekiwaniami społecznymi.

W wykonaniu Sevara Ivanova i w reżyserii Any Batevej spektakl bada, jak ego, obraz siebie oraz potrzeba uznania mogą prowadzić do izolacji i oddalenia od prawdziwych relacji z innymi. Podążając za Bandinim, który krąży w zamkniętym kręgu pragnienia bycia akceptowanym, spektakl ukazuje kruchą granicę między ambicją a samotnością.

Łącząc humor, fizyczność i intymą narrację, przedstawienie tworzy bezpośrednie spotkanie z widzem, jednocześnie skłaniając do rnefleksji nad tożsamością, potrzebą uznania i presją społeczną.

The Little Dog Laughed is a monodrama inspired by John Fante’s novel Ask the Dust, centered on the character of Arturo Bandini and his struggle between personal desire and social expectation.

Performed by Sevar Ivanov and directed by Ana Bateva, the piece explores how ego, self-image, and the need for recognition can isolate an individual, distancing them from genuine human connection. As Bandini moves within a cycle of longing to be accepted, the performance reflects on the fragile boundary between ambition and loneliness.

Combining humor, physicality, and intimate storytelling, the work creates a direct and engaging encounter with the audience. Through this personal journey, it opens a broader reflection on identity, recognition, and the pressures imposed by society, revealing the vulnerability underlying the human need to belong.
